Bouncy Balls and Bridges

We've been busy scientists!!

A few weeks ago we changed matter... From a liquid to a solid bouncy ball!

Last week we discussed bridges in science. First we talked about why bridges were important and materials they were made of. Then we tested a beam and an arch bridge to see which one would support more weight. Next we discussed materials in class that would offer support (no cement or bricks of course):) Then we designed and created a bridge with our group. Here are a few pictures of our end product!

Nature Center

We had a BLAST at the nature center today! We started out our day by observing trees and finding their circumference using links.  Then we discovered what it would be like to be a fish, chameleon and insect and looking through the world with their eyes.

Then we moved to the pond. We observed and recorded living and no living things at the pond.

Last we recorded vegetables and plants in alphabetical order. We even got to taste fresh spinach and strawberries straight from the garden!

I want to wish a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our February birthday!
