Donuts with Dad and Field Day

Yesterday we enjoyed donuts with our dads for an early Father's Day. We shared our writing about our dad and a greatest dad award.

Yesterday we also enjoyed field day! We participated in 10 events with a couple that got us wet. We had FUN!

Reminder: Tuesday is first grade picnic from 12-2pm. Send a sack lunch, water, towel, appropriate toys (sport balls, frisbee, sidewalk chalk, jump ropes, etc).

Last Days of School

We've been popping a balloon at the end of each day for a special surprise/activity inside. We started with 13 days of school left.

We also made an owl to go on our bulletin board "Hoot Hoot Hooray we're ready for first grade", we wrote about our favorite things from first grade for our "we've had a ball in first grade" and we wrote about our summer plans on giant sunglasses and had fun creating ourselves wearing the sunglasses.

Muffins with Mom for Mother's Day

Friday, May 10th we invited our moms to our classroom for Muffins with Mom to celebrate Mother's Day. We had a great time eating muffins and giving our mothers day gifts! Thank you to Mr. Hay for making 5 dozen blueberry muffins!

Thank you to all the wonderful moms for coming and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Casa Manana Field Trip

We traveled to Casa Manana in Ft. Worth on Tuesday May 7th to watch Seussical Jr. We had a GREAT time! It was fun singing along with some of the songs from the Seussical program we performed in April at a PTA meeting.

Cinco De Mayo

We researched and learned more about Cinco De Mayo. We ended the week on May 3rd with a pinata and birthday treats to celebrate Mrs. Hay's birthday. Also, students participated in the Cinco De Mayo parade in downtown Grand Prairie. Thank you to the teachers, parents, and students who came out to walk with Florence Hill!
